MRCDC Coordinator's Meeting Report - Choteau County CD

Who: Laurie Riley
What: Choteau County CD Meeting
Where: CD office, Ft Benton, MT
When: Tuesday, February 1, 2011, 7:30 p.m.
Why: My goal is to attend each of the 15 Council member CD meetings at least once per year. At the Jan Quarterly MRCD meeting, the Council commented that I should attend 1-2 CD meetings per month. Since July, in addition to 2 Area meetings (Dillon and Choteau) I have attended meetings for:
  • Lewis & Clark County CD
  • Cascade County CD
  • Phillips County CD
  • Petroleum County CD
  • Garfield County CD
  • Choteau County CD
Accomplished: Introduced myself to the CD Supervisors.  The Council representative is Rick Anderson, who I had met at the legislative meet and greet in Helena in January.  I briefed them on the issues and projects on which we have been working.  I also briefed them on activities of the Teton River Watershed Group at the request of Alan Rollo, who was unable to attend.  We discussed HB316 and the importance of talking to legislators about what is important to the CDs in Montana.
Follow Up: Try and obtain Legislative Guides for the supervisors.  Keep Rick apprised of the Missouri-Madison CREP addendum.  Reschedule another visit within the next 6 months to 1 year. Encourage Rick to attend MRCDC meetings.
