| Why: |
Trying to visit each Conservation district in our Council at least once per year in order to meet the Administrator and Supervisors, get an understanding of their local issues, and update them on activities and focus of the Council. Have not yet visited Broadwater County CD. Council member Jim Beck was in attendance. |
| Accomplished: |
Briefly filled the Board in on our major efforts, including CMR Community Working Group, MRRIC, BLM Central MT RAC, Missouri-Madison CREP addendum, cottonwood regeneration, Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM). Pam Converse from the Broadwater Weed District is working to organize a Missouri River Headwaters EWM Task Force similar to the one being initiated by the ACOE for Ft Peck Lake. Local state representative Kelly Flynn reported on bills in legislature of interest to the CD. Each of these is being followed by Jeff Tiberi of MACD and can be found in Jeff's News From the Front. |
| Follow Up: |
Report back information to Administrator on CMR Refuge number of AUMs high and current and number of grazing permits high and current. Work with the CD on the new EWM task force. Follow up with Administrator and Weed District on EWM Task Force status and efforts. |
