The Council welcomes the following new members: Nick Schultz from the Petroleum County Conservation District. Nick returned to the family ranch in Petroleum County after working a number of years for the Bureau of Land Management. He was appointed to the CD as an Associate Supervisor in 2008 after taking an active role in the CD’s GLCI grant for rangeland diversity sage grouse workshops.
Tom Ruffatto with the Richland County Conservation District. After a short break from his previous 12 years of service to the CD, Tom was again elected as a Supervisor last fall. Tom has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Production from MSU and is a 4th generation rancher on the family ranch near Brockton, where they irrigate out of the Missouri River. Tom and his wife Lynette have 4 children and 2 grandkids. Tom also finds time to volunteer throughout the community - serving on the church board, the Lower Missouri Water Reservation Council, and the Lower Missouri CRM Group.
Dean Rogge from the Garfield County Conservation District. Dean has been an elected supervisor on the Garfield County CD Board since 2001. Together with his wife Tanna and daughter Joanna, he farms and ranches near Sand Springs, just 18 miles from the ranch he grew up on. Dean also has 2 step-children and 4 grandkids! In addition to his efforts with the CD and the Council, Dean is an active member of the Dry Redwater Rural Water Project, serves on the County Land Use Planning Board, and volunteers as caretaker at the East Fork Cemetery.
Jeanne Rae Kirkegard from the McCone Conservation District. Jeanne Rae is an appointed Associate Supervisor with the McCone CD. She has lived in McCone County her entire life and has been the CD Administrator since 2002. Jeanne Rae is instrumental in the CD’s TMDL work with the Department of Environmental Quality in the Redwater River Watershed, work on the Dry Redwater Rural Water Project, education projects with the High School and Boy Scout Troop, as well as windbreak and rain garden demonstration projects. Jeanne Rae and her husband Tom have 3 sons and 2 beautiful red-haired granddaughters. Jeanne Rae also serves on the Circle School Board.
