CMR Tour July 7th

Please join us July 7th for the re-scheduled tour of the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge.  This informative and educational tour of north Garfield County and the adjacent Refuge will begin at 9:00 AM at the VFW Hall in Jordan, MT with introductions and an overview of the land management issues in the area.  The tour will then proceed north of Brussett to visit the John McKeever ranch, the CMR Refuge, and view a grazing allotment as well as portions of the salt cedar infestation that encircles the Fort Peck Reservoir.

The tour will highlight land management practices on private and public ground, the impacts they have on one another, and potential improvements that can benefit all.  Transportation and lunch will be provided.  Please RSVP to (406) 454-0056 or mrcdc@missouririvercouncil.info by July 2nd.

The goal of this tour is to open communication, look at the real issues on the ground, learn some of the emerging science of grazing and fire management, take some first steps to begin a stakeholder group, and potentially identify areas of common ground and common need.

If you have questions or concerns, please let me know.  Thanks for your time and we hope to see you in Jordan on July 7th!
